GDC Hajin organized a pre-admission counselling programme for students interested in taking admission to the UG courses offered by the college.
The admission Committee of Govt. Degree College Hajin organized a one-day pre-admission counselling programme under NEP-2020 FYUGP for students who are aspiring to join various undergraduate courses in the college. The counselling session took place in the college's seminar hall. In his inaugural address, the principal of GDC Hajin, Prof. (Dr) Peer Zahoor Ahmad, welcomed the participants from various Higher Secondary Schools and emphasized the importance of education in shaping one's personality into a better human being and stressed on how education can lead our society into the path of progress and prosperity. During the session, Prof. (Dr) Mehraj Hajini, Head of the Department of Political Science, expressed appreciation to the admission committee for conducting such counselling sessions and also informed the students about the various facilities that the college provides to its students, and stressed upon the importance of seeking education in the contemporary times. Dr Falak Fayrooz, the convenor of the college's admission committee, delivered a detailed talk to the interested students about the various technicalities that they will be dealing with throughout the admission process. He informed the students that the college has been exempted from the CUET-2024, therefore, admission to various courses in the college will be based only on their merit in the twelfth board exams. It was followed by a question-and-answer session in which several students raised certain reasonable queries, which were properly responded and addressed by the convenor admission committee. The counselling session concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Mr Adnan Rashid, co-convenor of the college's admissions committee. The entire session was moderated by Prof. Nahida Naseem, Head of the Department of Education.
